Custom Built Servers Choose your server, configure it, and we will build it for you. Have special software you'd like installed? Our experts will install the latest version and make sure all is running smoothly. And we will keep making sure it runs smoothly - installing updates for the software as they become available. You'll never have an old version at NightSky!
Root Access Tired of not being able to run programs on shared providers? With every server, you get root shell access, allowing you the ability to control every aspect of the server at any time.
Unlimited Domains Host as many domains as you wish. There is never any limit or any fee to add a domain or subdomain to your plan. This is standard on all plans! Just pay the registration fee with your registrar (or if you want us to register it for you, pay our registration fee).
Registering the Domain If you don't already have a domain, we can register it for you. Simply tell us what domain you would like, and we will get it for you for a mere $15. Once we have obtained your domain name, we will manage the domain for you, including handling all DNS tasks. If you already have your domain, we will work with you to switch your domain to our name servers.
Shopping Cart We can include any shopping cart software on all dedicated plans. This gets your store up running reliably in minutes. From a handful of items to a complete grocery store, we can handle it. And with your SSL license, all data is safe and secure.
Streaming Services We provide basic Quicktime Streaming services free of charge. We can also encode video from almost any source for the web, or even produce video for the web. See our production page or contact us for more information.
Email Features
E-mail Administration E-mail administration has never been easier that with us! All of your e-mail settings, accounts, aliases and mailing lists can be easily controlled from one web-based administration menu. Simply add an account or adjust a setting and its done and online, ready to be used.
TMDA Anti-Spam We hate unsolicited e-mails. Possibly as much as you do. That is why we offer a groundbreaking solution to fight spam. Called "Tagged Message Delivery Agent" (TMDA), this e-mail server identifies messages from unknown people and asks them to authenticate themselves. Since most people who send spam forge their e-mail address, they never see the request to authenticate and you never receive the spam, preventing about 90% of unsolicited e-mails. TMDA also supports blacklisting and message content filtering, if you want them. Or if you like spam, simply turn off TMDA.
POP3 & IMAP E-mail Addresses With all of our hosting packages we provide POP3 / IMAP e-mail access. This means you can access your mail from any popular e-mail client (Outlook, Eudora). All of your POP3 e-mail accounts are only restricted by your total disk space, giving you the freedom to send and receive e-mails without worry.

Catch All E-mail NightSky also provides a "Catch-All" e-mail account. This is an account that would catch any e-mail going to your domain that does not have an exact address, such as when a e-mail address is misspelled. This ensures that you wont miss those important e-mails because of a slip of a finger!
Mailing Lists We can also set up mailing lists for your domain. A mailing list an interactive discussion by participants via e-mail It is not spam nor is it intended for that. You can set up a moderated mailing list so that your customers can all get important updates to your product line. Or set up an unmoderated mailing list for your family. Any way you want to do it, you can.
Webmail Web-based e-mail is simply the easiest way to connect from anywhere to read your e-mail All you need is a web browser and an Internet connection. Simply type webmail.yourdomain.com and you can read, write and control your e-mail account. No hassles, no worries. And its standard on all web hosting packages. You can even configure the look of the webmail pages.
Secure Connections Connect to your email account without giving away your passwords! We provide multiple options to enable you to connect securely to your email accounts. Whether its via our secure webmail interface (even with a anti-keylogger tool!), or our secure POP or secure SMTP, your privacy is protected with industry-standard encryption.
Other Features
Scripting Scripting is not a problem with our custom built servers. All of out servers are given the latest versions of Java, PHP, Zend, Perl, TCL and c++, allowing you the best and most modern features of those languages. And we will keep it that way, as new versions come out, your server will be updated to the latest version.
Databases Storing, manipulating and retrieving data is simple with MySQL or PostgreSQL. Both are high end, production-stable databases that can store and retrieve data in the blink of an eye. And you will always have the latest version of both databases available to you on your server, if you wish.
Website Stats You need to know what your visitors are looking at. Simply type stats.yourdomain.com and you can see where your visitors are going, what they are doing, and where they are coming from. Updated weekly (in the Basic Package), the program examines your logs and gives you daily, hourly and monthly info with details and specifics are included. The advanced server package examines your logs on a daily basis, for even more up to the minute results.
Private FTP A private FTP server is included with your account. Like your e-mail space, you are not limited in your FTP space, except by your total disk usage. From the FTP server you can access your website with full access privileges, and access the templates for your e-mail administration and webmail servers. You can also upload documents and programs as an offsite storage.
Crontab Editor Schedule scripts to happen automatically using our Crontab editor. This secure web-based administration makes it easy to run scripts at set intervals. Simply upload the script or run a standard linux program at any time you wish.
Backups All of this, the e-mail, the web server, and the FTP space is always backed up. Even though our servers are extremely reliable, if something does go wrong our biweekly backups will make sure you\'ll be back up in no time. For the extra reliability, our Server 2k package creates backups every 3 days!
